Shelvis and Nancy Smith-Mather are friends of ours and missionaries serving in Yei with Reconcile International. Their first son became the first American to be born in South Sudan when he was delivered at His House of Hope in early 2013, following pre-term labour at 32 weeks gestation.
Here, on CNN, Shelvis and Nancy share their thoughts of the current crisis.
We pray God’s blessing on the work of Reconcile International, and their vision for “harmonious and caring communities in South Sudan and the region realizing their full potentials, living and working together in justice, peace, truth, mercy and hope.”
May God help them fulfil their mission of “equipping communities in South Sudan and the region with knowledge and skills for sustainable Peace through trauma healing, accountable governance and social transformation.”
